The Maisy Battery is an extensive and very impressive site, authentic and well preserved by a passionate Englishman - Gary Sterne. It was a German WW2 Headquarters during the occupation and after liberation, Gun Batteries lay buried in the fields of Normandy. It was only re-opened in 2006 but this site now stands as the largest in Normandy of its type with over 3km of trenches open for you to see along side personnel buildings, ammunition tunnels, Hospitals and many more buildings that you can walk through and explore. Please note: last entry is 1 hour before closing. |
